This week, you'll need to share what you're currently reading. Write a summary that tells us the main parts of your story (think of someone wants but so then) WITHOUT spoiling anything for other readers. This should be the same book that I've been seeing you complete your bookmark(s) about. Your blog post should be 150 words or more.

The book that I am currently reading is the fantasy book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire written by J.K. Rowling. This is the fourth in the series and it revolves around Harry Potter's life in his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Wizards. Dumbledore, the wise and ancient principal there proposes to bring back a long forgotten tradition, the Triwizard Cup. This tournament stopped ages ago because so many wizards had died competing. The Triwizard Cup takes one wizard from three different schools (Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons) and puts them through a series of deadly quests. You must be seventeen years or older ( Harry is too young) to put your name into the blue flames of the Goblet of Fire. It is impossible to get in at any younger age, because there is a “bubble” around the Goblet of Fire in which younger students cannot get inside of. The prize for the winner of the Triwizard Cup is one thousand Galleons (wizard currency)! Harry dreams about being the winner even though he knows he too young to even sign up. But when something that no one expects occurs, it’s up to Harry to remember who the real enemy is.

The book that I’ve been reading is the historical fiction novel Running For My Life written by Lopez Lomong and Mark Tabb. This book is about a kid (now a grown up) named Lopez and in his town that he used to live in when he was 6 his nickname was Lopepe. One day Lopepe went to church with his mom and dad and his siblings decided to stay behind, and on that day rebel soldiers came and took all the children and brought only the boys to this camp to train to become soldiers. There, he lived in a small hut, crowded with many boys, and he met 3 kids from his home village and he refers to them as his angels, but sooner or later the number of boys started dropping like flies because all they were gave to eat was grain and sand so the boys were starving to death and getting sick. So his 3 angels (he still doesn’t know who they were to this day) came up with a plan to escape and when the right time came they put that plan into action.

The book I am reading right now is Everest. It is a fiction story by Gordon Korman, and is about how four teenage boys want to climb Everest. The main characters are Dominic, Chris, Tilt, and Perry. So far the book has talked about how much money it takes to scale the mountain, some of the gear the climbers will need, and some of the other ways they need to prepare. The boys find out that it is harder than they thought. Before they climb the mountain, they need the right gear. For example the book talks about how they need to get the proper shoes. After they get all of their gear, everybody in the climbing group has to be taught the skills and information they will need to be able to climb the mountain and stay safe. The boys have to go through a training camp that lasts for a whole month. I am at the point in the book where they are about to start their training.

The book I am reading is The Fever Code, a dystopian book by James Dashner. A group called WICKED is collecting kids immune to a disease that has wreaked havoc on earth. After being taken from their families they are transported to a secure compound run by WICKED and their lives change drastically. This novel is written in the first person perspective and follows the life of one of the children named Thomas. Prior to WICKED, Thomas lives with his parents and sister. They lived barricaded in a basement afraid of the changed outside world after sun flares. One day strangers break into the room, kill both his parents, and then take him and his sister. They are taken to the facility I have previously described. He is monitored 24/7 by doctors and in complete isolation from other kids for over a year. One day he is asked to build a maze to trap dozens of kids just like him so WICKED can examine their brain patterns under stress. Will Thomas ever forgive himself for participating in such a brutal experiment?

The book that I am currently reading is Code Talkers which is historical fiction novel written by Joseph Bruchac. The U.S. was in conflict with Japan during World War II. As a result, Navajo code talkers were a crucial part of the U.S. defense because they were sending messages back and forth in their native language. Well before this, the main character Ned Begay was in a boarding school where he was taught that the Navajo language was futile. At the boarding school, if you were ever caught speaking Navajo, you got your mouth washed out with soap. While attending the boarding school, Ned was a very smart student and wanted nothing to do with trouble. He was also the runt of the bunch in terms of his size compared to the other students. When he got sent to boot camp after boarding school, it was necessary for him to learn how to swim. The author uses an example and compares Ned to a rock. Both a rock and Ned Begay were very small and when a rock gets tossed in the water, it will sink. Ned was thrown into the pool by the instructor at boot camp and sank to the bottom at first and later figured out how to swim. Ned Begay’s goal was to make it to the Marines and that is exactly what he did. He was shipped out from boot camp onto a boat that would take him all the way to Hawaii. While he was on the boat, he always feared that the enemy would drop an explosive on their boat while traveling. He was taught that even if even your life was on the line, you never told the enemy or anyone else about the Navajo code language. His secret Navajo code language is key to his role in the Marines.

The book i’m currently reading is a mystery book by April Henry, called Girl, Stolen. It is a suspenseful book. Cheyenne leaves herself in her stepmother's car with the keys inside, while her stepmom goes and gets Cheyenne’s prescription. Cheyenne is blind. When someone jumps in the car and drives away, Cheyenne has no idea who she is with or where she is going. She is held hostage at a barn with no guidance… so she thinks. Her “kidnappers” are not good people. They are harsh, smokers, and have no sympathy. Most of the “kidnappers” are not nice to Cheyenne, even though she has no sight. The person who is in the car with her claims to intentionally steal the car, not Cheyenne. But with mass chaos, did the “kidnapper” really kidnap the car, or was he going for Cheyenne? This book is for readers who love suspense and mystery. I would recommend this book also to readers that are more mature, because there is some parts that involve strong comprehension and harsh actions.

I am currently reading the dystopian novel Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix. In this dystopia the government enforced the law that each family can only have 2 children, although all through the town there are other children hiding that were born 3rd in the family. Luke is one of these children. He feels very restricted because he can’t go to school, work on his farm, play outside, make friends, or even spend time with his family. Like feels all alone until one day he sees another child’s face in a window at a home where two other children lived. Now Luke has to decide whether he will spend the rest of his life in his house hiding, or if he will face his fear and go against the government.

All she wants more than anything is to express herself so people dont keep thinking she is dumb.

The book that I am reading is Prodigy by Marie Lu is the second book of the series that I am almost pretty much done with the book already. So the book is about the two main characters Day and june who are in this corrupted society trying to survive the harshness of the government to live each day but from the last book the first Legend Day’s leg got really badly injured and he can barely walk without feeling sick and wanting to fall over.So in the middle ish of the book someone really important dies and everything goes really bad even worse than it was before….and before june was working with day she was apart of that corrupted government and she was really important she was a prodigy so obviously the government wanted june back amongst their ranks and the wanted day dead because he was the government’s most wanted fugitive. But then the government caught them both…... FIN.
