For this week's blog post, tell me what book you are reading for literature circles. What was it about this book that made it one of your top picks? Have you read anything like it before? Based on what you've read so far this week, state a prediction within your blog post. Be sure to explain why this prediction makes sense (i.e. what evidence do you have that it may come true so far).

This month I will be reading Everlost. I picked this book as one of my favorites because it sounded interesting and my brother read it last year and said that it was phenomenal. I have never read anything like it but I hope I do someday because the book has a very interesting plot and is very interesting and mysterious. My prediction is that Mary Hightower, the author of many books about Everlost, will meet Allie and Allie might take over her role as "mother" to all of the afterlights. I predict this because Mary seems quite spit and polish and a bit strict where as Allie is fun and playful and could remind the afterlights of what living was like. In conclusion, I am very much enjoying my book because it is the type of book that every page leaves you on a cliff hanger and you want to keep reading more and more because of all of the suspense.

This week for literature circle I am reading Tangerine, a realistic fiction novel by Edward Bloor. This book was my top pick because I enjoy reading books with sports in them and I like books about characters trying to fit in. In this book the main character, Paul Fisher is visually impaired and has to wear very big glasses and often gets picked on for how big they are. The Fisher family often moves for their father’s work but this time they move to Tangerine, Florida where odd things happen. Paul and his family need to learn to fit in this strange place where fires burn underground and lighting storms occur at the same time every day. Paul is visually impaired but does not how he got this way. I predict that sometime soon in the book Paul will find out how he became visually impaired. I predict this because Paul has been having snip its of memories about why he has these giant glasses, and I think that he will soon figure it out!

The lit circle book I’m reading is wringer. This was one of my top choices because it sounded really good when you book talked it. Also it is realistic fiction and that’s mostly what I read because I do not learning about some ones life but read a book that is funny and drama but isn’t real so its okay to laugh instead of cry because it happened to a real person. No I have not read a book like this one. A prediction that’s going to happen is palmer is going to negatively get peered pressured in to be a wringer because all of his so call friends want to do it so he would do it because he wants to look cool In front of his so call friends. Also I think he going to do something to Dorothy because the big shot so called friends doesn’t like her so he is going to do something he’s going to regret.

I am reading Silverwing for my lit-circle book talk. It was one of my top 10 because I like bats and action and aventure. Ive read Rats before which is similar by how the rats turned against the people, and in Sillverwing, the beasts like owls turn against the bats. I think what will happen next is that htey will arive at Stone Hold because Tree Haven was burned and set on fire by the owls, so the bats had to find a new place to live.

I am reading the book silverwing, I choose it because I really like books about animals. I .like books about animals because it shows you a different point of view, It describes how animals think and feel. Some books will describe them exactly like humans while in others they will act the exact opposite. A book I read like it is the warriors series. There about 36 books. It’s about a group of cats that live in the forest with no people. They hunt for food and have a cat that acts like a nurse. They are all in different clans. There are 4 clans; Thunder Clan, River Clan, Wind Clan, and Shadow clan. The clans are like a civilization. They come across different problems and solve them using different ways. In the book silverwing I predict that the character Shade will help end the feud between the owls and the bats. That is what I think will happen

I'm glad you're enjoying it! Remember memoirs are written by the real life person about his or her's life. Does this book sound like something that has happened in real life? Is it written by Ann?

For my literature circle I am reading Wonder. This made me write this for one of my top picks because all of my friends and a lot of people said that this was one of their favorite books so I decided to write it down. I have read something that is similar to this book it is called Petey. Petey Is about a guy who has a disease that made him not able to walk and people made fun of him. I think that everybody at his school will turn out being his friend and nobody will talk about his face or make fun of him or anything like that. I think this will happen because edventually everybody will get used to his face looking like that so they will not talk behind his back or say anything mean to him.

I am reading Wonder a book that allows a boy to start a new life at a school. The story is about a boy who was born a little different that starting his first year of school which is the 5th grade. Yes I have read something like Wonder because last year in 6th grade we read Petey and I liked it by the way if was explained. I feel like he is going to leave the school because of what his school friends or what were his friends. I also predict that his parents will question why doesn't go to school and he tells them which his parents will tell the principal what the other students made him feel, also auggie then will feel guilty and most likely say he made that up to get them in trouble.

For the literature circles in ELA am reading is “Painting the Black”. I chose this book as my top pick because I like stories that are realistic fiction. I also picked this book because I love reading books that are more mature. I have read a lot of books that are mature before this book. One of me favorites was “Chandra’s Secrets”. These books both have some of the same problems and these books are both suitable for mature readers. What I have read so far in “Painting the Black” is that the two main characters Josh and Ryan are growing apart. I predict later in the story that Josh might do something that could hurt their friendship for good and that Ryan will have to choose between what he loves most which is baseball and his image at school. I believe this because in the book Ryan went to Josh’s football game. Josh told Ryan to meet him at Godfathers which is a restaurant in the book. When Ryan arrived at Godfathers after the game Josh wasn’t there. He waited and waited until he figured out that Josh wasn’t coming. When he got home Ryan looked out of his window and saw Josh get out of his teammates car. Another detail from the story was that Josh is doing some bad things at school that could possibly ruin the friendship between the two of them. When Josh did this Ryan told him that it was wrong, but Josh kept saying it was a joke.

For my lit circle i am reading the book holes. i accually didnt have this as on eof my top choices. i had this as my fourth choice, but i guess you get what you get. i have not read something like this before. I dont personally like books like this. i would rather read sci-fi or fantasy book than a magical realism. I feel stanley will get used to the camp and make some friends he doesnt want to let go. i feel that stanley will get more fit because of the harsh heat, the no water dehydration, and digging holes. This makes sense to me because stanley is very overweight and if he is in these conditions, he will soon become skinnier.

For our literature circles, I’m reading Tangerine by Edward Bloor. This novel was my first choice because I like the genre, which is magical realism. I have been reading lots of books like this lately. Another reason I picked this book is that the main character is a soccer player, and so am I. So far in this book, a bolt of lightning has already killed someone, and a sinkhole swallowed a classroom. Another thing that has happened is that the main character and his family found out that it rains at the same time every day in their new county. Based on what I’ve read so far, I think that another crazy weather related thing will happen in the book. I think this will happen because lots of weird weather related things have already happened, so it makes sense if more things like that occur. I’m excited to read more of Tangerine and I definitely recommend it to everyone!

This week for my literature circle book, I'm reading Monster, by Walter Dean Myers. I picked this book as my second choice, because I felt that it would be suspenseful and fun to play along with some of the evidence told in the courtroom. Also to try to predict who committed the crime! I have not really read anything like this book before, based on the format and topic. The format is written as journal entries and screenplay, which is very interesting to read, but it can get kind of confusing at some points, too. My prediction would be that since Steve is innocent until proven guilty, he is still innocent. Nothing about Steve has really been discussed yet in court, so as of now, I assume he is innocent. However, I'm still curious to know if he is proven guilty, why. In my opinion, based on the crime description, he didn't seem to do anything very suspicious. Overall, I'm eager to see what will happen next.

This week, for literature circle books I'm reading Tangerine by Edward Bloor. What made me pick this book was the summary and the genre because I normally don't read mystery books, but this one seemed fascinating. Also, I thought that all of the weird things that were going to happen in the book were interesting. I have not read anything like this book before, but I might start to. As of what I have read so far, I think either Paul will stay at Tangerine Middle or something tragic will happen again. For example, he says that when the school had a meeting about changing the school, due to the sinkhole, it is as if a miracle has happened. Paul finally can be on the soccer team there, and so far he likes it better there than at Lake Windsor Middle. If Paul does end up staying at Tangerine Middle, I think that another natural disaster will happen during soccer because a lot of mysterious and unexpected things happen in Tangerine County.

The book that I am reading for literature circles is Painting the Black. The thing that made this book my top choice was that it is mostly about real life events and bullying and I like a sad kind of story. I have not really read anything like it before except for the sad part. Based on what I have read so far I predict that Josh who is one of the main characters of the book, will return to school and everyone will hate him. He will try out for the baseball team and so will Ryan who is the real main character, and then Ryan will be great and everyone will love him. Josh on the other hand, I think will turn out to be really bad and be forgotten by everyone including Ryan. This prediction makes sense because everyone hates Josh already and they don’t really know Ryan and he is a good person. Also Ryan is going to tryout for the baseball team already and so Josh will most likely follow because Ryan will be his only friend. Already Ryan doesn’t really trust Josh because he hasn’t really kept his promises that he has made with Ryan.

The literature circle book I am reading is Monster a realistic fiction book by Walter Dean Myers. This book was my top pick because I want to find out if he actually murdered Mr. Nesbitt. I have never read any book like this before. I think that Steve will lose the trial because almost everyone in the courtroom thinks that he killed Mr. Nesbitt. Also Steve's lawyer is skeptical.

I am reading wonder I forgot who the author is but she is very talented and thoughtful. Wonder is about a kid named august who is deformed was something I heard in the summary and I wanted to know more about it. It’s a really interesting and I like it. I have read a book like it but I can’t remember the name. It is a lot like it. Because august looks bad on the outside but summer got to know him so I think if august is being bullied then summer would stand up for him and he would feel better about himself. Jack was not going to go in the first place to see august in the school I think that is because he is very judgmental and is most likely just like Julian. Based on what I have read so far I think august will be bullied.

My book that is for my literature circle is Everlost This was my top pick because it is fantasy, adventure ,and mystery. I have read a book a little bit like this but not like it in a way. The Percy Jackson series had many things to do with the undead. The under world for example. In my story, I predict that Mary is the McGill. A monster that hates kids that came over (afterlights or greenlights). I think this because Mary is a very old soul and has been there longer than anybody else and there were no monsters or anything because this is a aflter life place but they are not dead or alive so there is nothing they can do except find stuff that crosses over like video games, TV’s, etc.

The book I choose for my first Lit. Circle was Z for Zachariah. I choose Z for Zachariah because I like the struggles Ann faces being, what she thinks, the last person ton earth. Ann sees a man came into the valley so she hides in a cave behind her house and dirties up the house. The man grows ill from bathing in contaminated stream water. I predict that the man will survive and the both of them will face another challenge like another person coming into the valley. I have not read another book like this before. The book is mainly about a nuclear warfare and how Ann thinks she is the last person on earth. So far I would give the book a four stars because they introduced us to a new character and some conflict has started with the new character, John, has gotten sick. This is why I chose this book and how I feel about it know.

I am reading the book Everlost. (wouldn't let me underline). Everlost was one of my top picks because I happened to find it mysterious and it had souls in it. Based on what I've read so far, I predict that Mary Hightower was once the Queen of Snots when she was living. I made this prediction because the book stated something along the lines of, "Mary disliked being called the Queen of Snots, but it was true." Later in the book, I read about legend to get kids to behave, with a witch that was commonly known as the Queen of Snots. I encountered this part in the story when Johnny'O and Allie went to find Nick and Lief, when one of Johnny'O's goons brought it up in the conversation. I hope I will continue to enjoy this book!

I am reading the book Wonder for literature circles. This was my top pick because people say this is a really good book to read. My prediction is that he will be making new friends because the book talks about how he is sitting with people at lunch, and his best friend Summer will have him meet new people. This book is about a boy who is going to start at a new school. The story is about a boy who was born a little different that's starting his first year of school, which is the 5th grade. I have never read a book like this.
