When I look at my reading record the book that stands out to me the most was the fantasy novel "Ella Enchanted " by Gail Carson Levine. This book was about a girl named Ella and she lived in the town of Frell. In her world magic exist, so when you find out that Ella is cursed by a fairy named Lucinda it is not that surprising. The fairy wanted to give Ella a gift, but the gift of obeying orders no matter what was not that good of a gift if I do say so myself. On top of all of this mess in her life her mother gets sick and shortly dies because of her sickness. After Ella grows up she learns to cope with her curse more, but all of that changes when her father remarries to Dama Olga. Dame Olga has two daughters one named Hattie and one named Olive. Hattie soon figures out that Ella will do anything they say so they start bossing her around. Soon Ella can't take it anymore and runs away from the school that she was forced to go to by Dame Olga. She is then accompanied by Prince Char and soon have a budding romance, the rest of the book is up to you to figure out. One reason this was my favorite book was because it taught me the lesson of stay true to myself. Ella went through clumsiness, fearfulness, and sorrow, but all through this she stayed true to herself and came out on top. Another reason it was my favorite book was because the author did such a great job picking out all the details and I could always picture what was happening in the book and that was really exciting for me. This book stood out to me because it was the only book that was the genre of fantasy on my book list. I only read one fantasy book this year because I always thought fantasy was for little kids and the books that had the genre of fantasy never taught me anything, but after I read "Ella Enchanted " I realized that this is not true and that I need to read more fantasy and open my eyes to a new genre. I would recommend this book to people that want to try a new genre because when I saw this book from Ms.Murphy's book library I wasn't so sure about it, but after I got to chapter three I couldn't put the book down and I believe this will happen to you if you just try something new.

This year out of all the books I read, Out Of My Mind, a realistic fiction novel written by Sharon M. Draper, is my favorite. Out Of My Mind is about a girl named Melody who is disabled and is incapable of speaking. This novel paints a picture of Melody’s abnormal life and what her thoughts are. Everyone, her doctors, and her family feel Melody is not smart and never will be able to learn like typical children. They are wrong! It turns out; Melody is actually the smartest kid in her whole school! But no one knows it! So, Melody learns about this new technology that helps people like her communicate. After a lot of work, Melody finally is able to get the machine. This machine not only lets Melody communicate, but shows her true intelligence, and helps her get onto her school’s wiz kids team! This was my favorite, because I really liked seeing how Melody overcomes this challenge of not being able to communicate and provs everyone wrong. I also like this book the best because I really like Melody. She is different from most of the kids in her grade, but she doesn’t let that stop her. She still wants to be involved with school activities, make friends, and just live her life. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about people with disabilities who overcome challenges, just like Melody! Overall, I really enjoyed this book and feel others will as well.

This school year my favorite book to read was fantasy trilogy The School for Good and Evil by:Soman Chainani. This book was about two best friends, Sophie and Agatha, who are kidnapped from their mysterious village of Gavaldon where children are taken every four years and sent to the School for Good and Evil to live out their fairy tales as witches, princess',princes, or henchmen. But, when beautiful, kind Sophie is put into the School for Evil and dark, strange Agatha is put in the School for Good they try to put things the way they should be and swap schools but can they? This was my favorite book this school year because it was such a great story with so many plot twists making you think one thing and finding out it's the exact opposite and I also loved it because the way it was written was wonderful and I absolutely love reading books by the author. I would recommend it to people who like a little fantasy but also some action and mystery around every page.

This year the book that stood out to me was a realistic fiction book by April Henry called girl stolen. This was about a girl who was in a car covered in a blanket. A guy stole the car not knowing that the girl was there and finally found her and doesn't know what to do. This one stood out to me the most because I like how it suited from the girls perspective and then to the man who stole the cars perspective. It also stood out to me because it's kind of scary in a way. I would recommend this to people who like action, dangerous, creepy, and kind of surprising books. I likes this book and I think other people would too.

My favorite book is Torn To Pieces by Margot McDonnell. It is realistic fiction along with mystery. The book is about a seventeen year old girl who just moved to a new town with her mom. Then one day, her mother disappears. Throughout the whole book Anne has to try to figure out where her mother went, make new friends, and figure out who the mysterious people are that are breaking into her house. I like this book so much because it is very intense and there is not a word that makes you want to stop reading. It's filled with twists and turns that make you want to finish the book. I would recommend this to more mature readers, along with people who manlike more creepy and mysterious books. I love this book and I hope other people will enjoy it too!

The book that I read and liked the most is Crossover written by Kwame Alexander, it is a sports poetry novel. This book is my favorite because it was a very well done and it is about my favorite sport, basketball. This book is about how a boy named Josh Bell and his brother Jordan Bell are basketball stars at their middle school. They both love basketball. But then his brother Josh gets a girlfriend and spends less time with Jordan. His dad starts to get a sickness, but one day he has a serious heart attack. His dad dies because of this serious matter. Then they learn that family is always first. I would mostly recommend this book to anyone that likes basketball and likes a short but good read.

So far, in my reading record, I’ve read 14 books this year. The book [I just recently finished] that stood out the most to me was How It went down by Kekla Magoon - which is a Realistic Fiction book. This book is about a black 16 -year- old teen - Tariq Johnson who was shot by Jack Franklin- a white. From this horrific event, Tariq’s community, friends, and family are contemplated about the real life of Tariq . Putting together the ‘’puzzle pieces’’ of reality is a hard thing to do for many as well as the truth questioning how it went down. One reason why this book stands out to me is because there is a gigantic mystery behind what people at the scene saw. In addition, another reason why this book stood out to me is because there is always a twist in the story even when you don’t expect it. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone, especially, anyone who is interested in mysteries, drama, and mature young adult reading.

This year, my favorite book I read was The One by Kiera Cass, a fantasy novel. This novel was about a bunch of different teenage girls, a few from each caste, who were brought into The Princes' castle to stay for a while after being drawn from a raffle. While the girls are visiting, The Prince will have to choose one of them to be his new bride. While he chooses, it can be very tough for the girls and The Prince and I enjoyed reading about all of the obstacles and challenges that had to be faced. This book was one of my favorites that I read this year because it was written in two different perspectives, one of The Prince and one of America, a candidate from a lower caste. I liked this because it gave the reader a good feel of everyone's side of the story. I also favorited this book because they were apart of a series that had the same story that carried on through all of the books which I enjoyed so that there were some cliff hangers and suspense. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the tv show The Bachelorette because this book seems to be just like it, and anyone who enjoys fantasy novels.

Out of the books I've read this school year, the realistic fiction book, “Love and Other Theories” by Alexis Bass is my favorite and really stood out against the others. The book “Love and Other Theories” is about a highschool girl named Aubrey and her friends have theories about boys to get any guy they want. After meeting Nathan Diggs, the new kid at school, these theories change and something special happens between Aubrey and Nathan. Over the course of romance, betrayal, and friendship, the book takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride and shows you that sometimes change is a good thing. The reason I found it so appealing is because the drama, suspense, and romance throughout the book made me want to keep reading. Also, this was one of the books that has lead me to the reader I have become and have matured into. A lot of the other books also had romance, but there was something different about the way the relationship was expressed and as I was reading it, I felt as if I were watching a movie. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes romance and also to more mature readers.

When I look at my reading record the book that stands out the most is Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt a realistic fiction book. I chose this book because it was one of the first real young adult books that I have read this year and have read ever. The book is about a family's struggle to incorporate a 14 year old boy with a child into their family. This is my favorite book I have read because it really immerses you in the story and shows you the family's struggle. Another reason this is one of my favorite book because Gary D. Schmidt based the book off of his real life experiences after meeting with children who have been sent to jail and connected with them through reading. I would recommend this book to people who don’t enjoy reading because this book is really where I found my joy in reading.

My favorite books this year were Binge by Tyler Oakley, And Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt. These books has good life lessons like that life isn't always perfect. In Orbiting Jupiter, Joseph has a daughter at 13, and the book leads up to a point that everyone doesn't have to be perfect. And in Binge, Tyler explains how his life was not always the best. These two books show how life is just a mistake after mistake. That not everyone is perfect

My favorite book this year was The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, which is a memoir book written by William Kamkwamba. The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind is about a boy who lives in a village with no power during a famine who builds a windmill to generate power for his town using mostly parts from a junkyard and some parts that were purchased. One reason why this book was my favorite is that I think that it is amazing that William can build a windmill even though he has many struggles and he has a major shortage of parts. Another reason that this was my favorite book is because I really like true stories and this is a really good one. I would recommend this book to people who like reading memoirs and true stories.

Marilyn Nelson calls the book I have been reading American Ace. The genre of the book is Historical non-fiction. The book is about a girl that is very close with her father. After the dad’s mother died it seemed like his sense of humor was gone to. Later in the book the daughter would find out something pretty big that she didn’t know about. This isn’t one of the top books that I have read but it is still very interesting. The type of people I would recommend this book to is the people that like mystery. Even though I said it wasn’t my favorite book it still was very fun to read even though I’m still reading it.

My favorite book this school year was Wildlife. It is a non-fiction or mystery story by Cynthia Defelice. This book is a book about a kid whose parents transferred somewhere for the army and the kid has to go to his uncles house that he never met. He does not want to go to his uncles house but his parents make him. At his uncles house he finds a dog in his uncles barn and it has needles in it from a porcupine his uncle does not want him to keep the dog but the kid does. The story continues about the dog and a great adventure. This is my favorite book because I love mystery and it is my favorite genre. Also I love how Cynthia Defelice writes her books. I would recommend this book to any gender and people who like mystery.

My favorite book I read this year is Paper Towns by John Green. Paper Towns is a realistic fiction book about a boy named Quentin has a crush on a girl named Margo that he used to be friends with when he was younger. One night Margo snuck into Quentin's room and they went through the town doing mean things to everyone that Margo was ever hurt by. The day after Margo went missing and Quentin and his friends were on a mission to find her. I liked this book because I really like the ending, the story ends on a different note than I would've expected it to and it's very well written. I also like this book because of Margo. Margo is different than every other girl in every story I have ever read and she always leaves you wondering more. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a little bit of mystery and a little bit of an adventure.

My favorite book this year had to be ' The Killing Woods' because it stood out the most. It is a mystery by Lucy Christopher. Thus story is about a girl named Emily and her dad has PTSD which is post-traumatic stress disorder . He got this because he used to be in the army. Now everybody thinks he killed a girl that was popular at Emily's school. Also since everyone thinks her father killed this girl they think Emily might kill somebody as well like it runs in their family. Now she is trying to figure out who did it, but she is slowly is starting to think it was her dad. It standed out to me the most because it seemed interesting and I love mysteries. Also the quote on the cover got me thinking and it is because I didnt at first understand what "Dangerous games are played in the dark..." until I read the first chapter I finally understood what it meant. Also it takes some time to come with a title that allows the reader to think and say, "This book seems real interesting and mysterious." I would recommend this book who ever likes mysteries like Mrs. Grannel and myself. Also for anyone who is mature because their is swearing and some other stuff.

The book I read this year that I thought stood out the most was Silverwing, a fantasy book by Kenneth Oppel. It is about a young bat named Shade who gets gets separated from his family. He faces many dangers, makes a few friends, and finds a few mysteries about himself and the things around him. This book stands out to me because it was a book that I would not normally have read, but after being assigned to in lit. circles, I enjoyed it a lot. I would recommend It to people who enjoy fantasy books or fables. However, it would probably be a good read to just about anyone.

My favorite books that are mythology are the ones in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. The summary depends on what # book you are reading. For example, in book 2, The Sea of Monsters, camp halfblood gets poisoned by a mysrious enemy and Percy and his friends have to go to The Sea of Monsters to retrieve the one thing that might save camp, the gollden fleece. The first reason this series stood out to me because it resulted in greek mythology and I really am into that stuff. The second reseon why I picked this series is beacause after hearing about the books by Rick Riordan, he sounded like a pretty cool author to read books from. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes greek mythology and a cliff hanger at the end of every chapter.

This year my favorite book was Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine and it's a fantasy fiction novel. In this book a fairy curses a girl named Ella, so that she now cannot refuse any command given to her. She goes through life very poorly and is not happy, she has to figure out a way to break this curse that was placed upon her at birth. This book was my favorite this year because it really was the first fantasy book I had ever remembered reading, and the story line of this curse and her story trying to break the curse really interested me. Also it was not just about this girl trying to break this curse. There was action, adventure, drama, and many others. That is why I liked it so much. I would recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy or even adventure and I recommend this to grades six and seven. Boys or Girls.

My favorite book this year was a fantasy by Sarah Beth Durst "A Girl Who Could Not Dream". It's about a girl, Sophie that has to find and save her parents from a person that looks innocent at first. In this story when Sophie drank a dream, she could turn the monster she dreamed into reality. Her book store gets flipped upside down and al of her dreams are almost ruined. She has to find a dream that she can drink ad save her parents. This is my favorite book because there are parts in the book where you open your mouth and just say that this is impossible. or just have to go back and reread because you don't believe what you just read. For example, when Sophie found out who actually stole her parents and destroyed her book store. But mostly who betrayed her. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and could read for hours if the book is good.

The book that stands out to me most is The School for Good and Evil. It's about two girls who are friends. One of them likes fairy tales, and is convinced that she will be taken from her village by the School Master to become a princess. The other, doesn't like fairy tales and has an odd personality that makes people think that she will be taken to be the next villain. They are both taken, but when they both get dropped into the school that they thought the other would go to, they have to figure out what's going on by themselves.

My favorite book is "The Outsiders" by S,E Hinton. We all read it but its about high school kids who are poor, bullied, and they do something that can get them in a lot of trouble, so they run. The book made me cry twice in the end because my favorite greaser died.
